Suzuki’s ignorance

An extreme environmental ideologue, who advocates action on global warming and saving the planet, David Suzuki flies around the world on carbon-fuelled speaking tours and charges thousands of dollars per appearance, whilst exhorting the rest of us to cut back on our excessive lifestyles.

The ABC therefore thinks he’s Gaia incarnate and offered him a full Q&A to himself to spout his propaganda.

Bill Koutalianos, of the Climate Sceptics Party, hit him with the first question on temperature flatlining since 1998. When Suzuki asked how he got to that conclusion, Bill rattled off the acronyms for the four main global temperature sets, GISS, HadCRUT, UAH, RSS. Suzuki was baffled. Ideology and ignorance combined.

    The joy, Simon, the joy!

  2. When talking of the consensus, Suzuki also quoted an 2004 opinion piece by Naomi Oreskes which has been rubbished by SPPI – see

  3. It really is unbelievable that Suzuki, the doyen of all things green, had no idea what the worlds temperature data sets were, even when he was given there names, but this one is a beauty:

“BILL KOUTALIANOS: Well, they’re the main data sets that IPCC use: UAH, University of Alabama, Huntsville …
DAVID SUZUKI: No, well, there may be a climate sceptic down in Huntsville, Alabama, who has taken the data and come to that conclusion …”

    What an embarrassment.

    • And that sceptic is a very well respected climate scientist Dr John Christy who WAS an IPCC lead author. He turned his back on the IPCC when they made wrong conclusions from data but, tongue in cheek, Christy has a fake Oscar (awarded to the IPCC) on his desk.

  4. For me the beauty was when he said he wanted to jail any politician who went against the so called consensus..when asked if it was hyperbole.. he replied no.. he wants jail time for them, he is that serious….

Isn’t this representative of what has been said all along.. about wanting to silence dissenters? Now the real truth is coming out, but we already knew that anyways,..hey.

  5. Bring on more like Suzuki and it will sink the AGW ship a lot sooner. He seems to be indicative of the one eyed believers in AGW.Let us all hope that the blinkers will eventually be removed but it may take time.

    • Not a bad idea but it would only work if the ABC was abolished or privatised. This organisation is still insinuating that so-called sceptics are uninformed, uneducated, idiots. Witness Barry’s reference to Bob Carter’s dismissal from James Cook University on his Media Watch program last week.

  6. Reblogged this on The GOLDEN RULE and commented:
In the early days of conservation awareness, I had respect for David Suzuki. Now I realize that he is another specialist fixated on “the cause”.
He has no understanding of the science and is certainly showing his ignorance and agenda orientation.

  7. Here’s some of Sukuki’s work. Suzuki frightens children with ugly climate propaganda! : http://www.wherewillsantalive.ca

  8. Simon Colwell says:

A village in Canada somewhere is missing its idiot…

    • Trust me…no one up here is missing him. Be nice to a fellow member state of the Commonwealth, and keep him down there will you?

  9. Old Sailor Man says:

This piece of sh*t is living testament to the great aphorism attributed to Phineas T. Barnum.more than a century ago…..”Well, fellas, I’m here to tell ya that nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the general public”

  10. Suzuki also calls human beings “maggots” so this type of behaviour is nothing new for Dr. Fly!

  11. Have another toke, David…

  12. rogerthesurf says:

AGW might be deservedly on its knees but it is but a smoke screen.

The real danger is Agenda 21 which wants to institute all the things that AGW threatened us with and more. The only thing is that its more subtle – it is creeping into our society as we speak.

In my country it is in our legislation, local government and education.
Take a look at my blog which shows how our government has very kindly used the devastating earthquakes which hit my city as an excuse to dispossess people of their homes and property in order to build an Agenda21 compliant city where our proud city once stood. http://www.thedemiseofchristchurch.com

But its not just my country, its world wide! Try searching your local government’s website for the words “Agenda 21” and “ICLEI” and tell me I’m not wrong.

    Cheers

    Roger

  13. charges thousands of dollars per appearance

Fat chance. Dom Pérignon ain’t cheap ya know. Suzuki’s listed appearance fees are between $25,000 and $150,000, depending on where it is and who it is and so on. After all, this eco-warrior has three houses to maintain, one of them worth an estimated 10 million loonies.
