Jobs for the boys: Flannery to head climate change council

Who says alarmism doesn’t pay? It does when you have a government like ours in charge:

The Coast and Climate Change Council, headed by Tim Flannery, was officially announced by Climate Change Minister Penny Wong in Sydney on Saturday, coinciding with the release of a report looking at necessary preparations for coastal maintenance.

“This report marks a new phase in our work on adapting to a climate change we can’t avoid,” Senator Wong told local government mayors, councillors, community members and reporters at Sydney’s Clovelly beach on Saturday.

“And as part of this I’m announcing that we will be establishing a Coast and Climate Change Council to be chaired by Tim Flannery to engage with the community and stakeholders, local government, state government and advise the government in the lead up to the coastal forum which we propose to hold early next year.

Just when we need cool heads and impartial judgement, we get an AGW hysteric. Nice work if you can get it.

  1. Yep. Belief in the religion of man-made climate change sure pays. Flummery charges $15,000 to preach (sorry talk) about how evil man is. And that’s just to get his attention, it doesn’t guarantee he’ll show.

Pity he doesn’t actually look at the data before he speaks (Perth to be a ghost town and Adelaide to have no water by end of 2009 etc etc). But then again when you are an archdeacon of the church then I guess you can BS as much as you like.

Also, he wasn’t keen to debate Ian Plimer in Armidale, NSW recently (Ian only asked for an airfare). Ian’s talk was excellent and very entertaining – volcanoes sure can ruin your day. He spoke to an audience of about 100-150 people. The talk was originally scheduled for a smaller venue but the response was over-whelming. The organisers had to move it to the town hall. The rain was also welcomed.

Many thanks Ian for your revealing and truthful expose of climate change. I am sure a lot of people went away thinking more about the scam that is being pushed by comrade Krudd et al.

Some feedback from acquaintances indicated that they are still not sure but did find his talk entertaining. Some have argued that if Ian is right how come every climatologist says that it due to man? I guess there is still a long way to go to finally put this scam to bed.

The science is pointing to it being natural and not man-made but the politicians are still believing (and pushing), controlling the MSM and the money, so it is a long way to go to break this scam. Come on opposition – just do that – be an opposition.

    Cheers

    WipeOut.

  2. I hope Tim has his tinny serviced for the evacuation of all those low lying residents.
