New CSIRO boss has "no scientific pedigree"

Could they have chosen anyone worse?

By his own admission! In fact, he is a corporate banker from Macquarie, Simon McKeon. Words fail me. But in the end, who cares? CSIRO isn’t in the business of proper science any more, it’s just a mouthpiece for federal government funded climate change alarmism, and this guy, who knows nothing about science, is perfect for the job, announcing that he “wants climate change elevated to the top of the political and public agenda.” He is, of course, clueless on climate:

“We may not have all the answers to what is occurring, we may not have certainly all the solutions to how to fix it,” he said.

“But the point is, why wouldn’t one take out very strong insurance to at least do what we can to future-proof our well-being? I think it’s a no-brainer.”

Add CSIRO to the ever-lengthening list of scientific institutions that have disappeared down the pan.

Read it here.

  1. CSIRO should keep out of politics and stick to science. Removing McKeon and putting an actual scientist at the head of it is the logical first step.

  2. Rick Bradford says:

    “I think it’s a no-brainer.”

    Takes one to know one…….

  3. “No Brainer”? Maybe that sums it up.

Used to work with people from CSIRO. They seemed to know what they were doing.

I guess that times have changed.

  4. This comment almost says it all,

“But the point is, why wouldn’t one take out very strong insurance to at least do what we can to future-proof our well-being? I think it’s a no-brainer.”

To make it complete all he needs to add is

“By the way, did I mention I sell this insurance?”

From my perspective (as a scientist), Mr. McKeon is perfect for the head this fear mongering agency. The whole point of these ineffective (from a climate impact) ETS schemes is to allow the financial industry to make a commision (very effective in this regard) on the air we breathe.

  5. The Loaded Dog says:

I wonder if Mr McKeon, being an ex corporate banker, has just the “pedigree” that is sought after here…

as outlined by Jo Nova, banks want us to trade carbon:-

    and here

in the ABC’s The Drum 4th March 2010:-

“The stealthy mass entry of the bankers and traders poses a major force. Surely if money has any effect on carbon emissions, it must also have an effect on careers, shareholders, advertising, and lobbying? There were over 2,000 lobbyists in Washington in 2008.”

    “Banking was conceived in iniquity
    and was born in sin.
    The Bankers own the earth.
    Take it away from them,
    but leave them the power
    to create deposits,
and with the flick of the pen they will
create enough deposits to buy it back again.
However, take it away from them, and
all the great fortunes like mine
will disappear and they ought to disappear,
for this would be a happier
and better world to live in.

Josiah Stamp (1880-1941, Director of the Bank of England)

  6. Zyconoclast says:

Let me think is there another prominent ex Macquarie banker using climate change to push the carbon trading scam, may possible even be a member of the federal Liberal Party hmmmm…..

(Also read that the new British parliament is now 10% infested with bankers and financiers)
