Penn and Teller tear 'global warming' a new one

I am a huge Penn and Teller fan. Apart from being some of the best illusionists on the planet, they also have a no-nonsense approach which is refreshingly un-PC.

I saw this video a while ago, but Catallaxy Files have just reposted it, and that was my cue to share it with ACM’s readers. Please be advised that the video contains very bad language – including f*ck, repeatedly. In fact, the third word spoken is f*ck.

That said, enjoy!

  1. Rathnakumar says:

Here is another relevant Penn & Teller: Bullshit! episode – Environmental Hysteria

  2. Nice, but George Carlin’s still is the best:

  3. Just goes to show how f$&)@ng gullible we humans really are!

  4. Dear Lord in heaven. From 20 paces you may not realise that those sucked in econuts have twisted brains. From 10 paces, maybe. When they open their mouths, absolutely. And so many of them out there! No wonder this pitiful scam has gone on for so long.

All power to the peerless Penn and Teller. Sheer class. No doubt you’ve also seen them shamelessly baiting dimwits at the Copenhagen farce eager to sign a petition to ban dihydrogen monoxide.

  5. F*ck. Those hippies are pretty f*cking lame.

  6. Good video, anyone know how long ago it was made ?

  7. Eco Anxiety What the f*ck next? Surely there is a stupid crap iphone app that can help with that.

  8. I think the one thing that I took from it was that there is so much guilt tied up in mankind’s technical progression. Penn & Teller also reminded me of the fact that 97% of Co2 is produced naturally, man C02 is only 3%. So in effect all this attempted carbon reduction will only ever cut 3% of emissions even if man made emissions were taken back to zero. I wonder if you put it in such plain language that the followers of the eco religion would actually start to get it.
Another way of looking at it is that carbon is being demonised because they can measure it. A bit like speeding for motorists. It has been claimed that inattentiveness is now the reason why most fatal accidents occur, but the Govt cant measure that, so they will maintain its speeding as they can measure it & therefore tax you for going over the limit.

  9. It’s too bad the Weather Channel agrees with real science:
“it is known that burning of fossil fuels injects additional carbon dioxide and other so-called greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. This in turn increases the naturally occurring “greenhouse effect,” a process in which our atmosphere keeps the earth’s surface much warmer than it would otherwise be.
More than a century’s worth of detailed climate observations shows a sharp increase in both carbon dioxide and temperature. These observations, together with computer model simulations and historical climate reconstructions from ice cores, ocean sediments and tree rings all provide strong evidence that the majority of the warming over the past century is a result of human activities. This is also the conclusion drawn, nearly unanimously, by climate scientists.”

  10. Sorry, they later came out and said that they’ve since changed their stance on Global Warming (as well as secondhand smoke and a few other things). Penn and Teller are helpful sources and very entertaining, but you should always double-check and research something before believing it.!#Environmental_skepticism
