From the Weather Isn’t Climate Department. As we all know, every weather phenomenon can be blamed on global warming – it’s an unfalsifiable hypothesis, the gift that keeps on giving! If it’s unseasonably hot: global warming. More rainfall: global warming. Drought: global warming. Less snow: global warming. More snow: global warming.
So it’s only a matter of time before some climate “scientist” breaks cover and says that this early snowfall in the US is “entirely consistent” with climate change projections. Because everything is “entirely consistent” with some climate model somewhere. Ask a climate scientist if any particular weather phenomenon could possibly disprove the theory of AGW and there will be a long, stony silence.
An unseasonable snowstorm has hit the US East Coast, threatening to bring up to 10in (25cm) of early snowfall.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm warning from Saturday into Sunday and says travel conditions may be hazardous.
Heavy snow has begun falling across parts of Pennsylvania. About 10,000 people there, as well as in Maryland and West Virginia, are without power.
In 1979, southern New England received a record 7.5in of snow in October.
A region of low pressure brewing off the mid-Atlantic coast is expected to produce heavy, wet snow as it moves north-east, the NWS said.
The Massachusetts Berkshires, north-western Connecticut and southern New Hampshire could see the most snow.
Big coastal cities are set to be hit, forecasters say, with New York expecting 4in (10cm) on Saturday, and Boston 3in.
Winds along the coast could reach 45mph (72km/h), further damaging power lines, the NWS said. (BBC)
THE HEAT FROM ALL THIS GLOBAL WARMING SNOW IS KILLING US!
Funnily enough, I was having this conversation with a friend in Pennsylvania this morning.. Biggest snowfall there for this time of year, and we’re freezing our butt off in the southern hemisphere too!! Im sure its hot SOMEWHERE.. but as I said to her, I have my money on a mini Ice Age long before we fry!!!!
Perhaps the onset of a Mini Ice age more likely ????
Yup Tam: Perhaps the onset of a Mini Ice age more likely ????
It is more likely the early onset of Alzheimer’s on the Global Warming Front. LOL
Everyone knows that it snows in summer and we all get sunburn in the winter don’t they?
Is this the “Gore Effect”? Is Algore planning a climate conference in the Northeast? I wonder how the Occupussies are handing this in Washington and NYC.
The best part will be Sunday–which is when the eco-tards have scheduled their “Climate Justice Day.”
In half-a-foot of snow?
Bwuhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Great comments, all! It’s nice to see that there’s some rationality abroad, not just in this ‘last holdout of deniers’.
Let it snow!
“Ask a climate scientist if any particular weather phenomenon could possibly disprove the theory of AGW and there will be a long, stony silence.”
Ask a climate alarmist if there is anything that could possibly prove the theory of AGW and there will be a long, stony silence.
“Flakes of Global Warming” – love it.
It rained for 2 minutes this morning and sun came out. Must be climate change. FLMAO.
Some locations have now received a foot and a half of snow, and the storm continues. The warmists cannot have it both ways:
http://talkingabouttheweather.wordpress.com/2011/10/29/you-cannot-have-it-both-ways/
On April 28 1975 Time magazine had on its front cover the title THE BIG FREEZE!!, with an article, signed by climate scientists, concluding that the Earth is cooling to the point it will all be covered in ice and all living creatures will die.
The “scientists” even came up with a solution: collect all the ashes and residues generated by coal-burning power plants and spread it over the North Pole, to capture the heat generated by the sun….
This could only have come from sick, perverted minds, but at the time it was viewed as a real option.
After a few years, when it obviously turned out that such a theory was nonsense, the so called climate scientists, in their quest for government grants, have invented a new fantasy, that of global warming……
Global Warming – you betcha. These early US storms prove it:
How about the October Snow Hurricane that brought vast amounts of snow to New England as an extratropical storm and was the latter of the two tropical cyclones recorded that season. It killed at least 9 people, and caused $1.2 million USD in damage across much of the Northeast Coast of the United States.
Ohh … nevermind – that was October 8-11 1804.
Okay, what about the Great Lakes Storm, a blizzard with hurricane-force winds that devastated the Great Lakes Basin in the Midwestern United States. The storm was most powerful on November 9 and killed more than 250 people. It was the deadliest and most destructive natural disaster ever to hit the Great Lakes region.
Ohh … nevermind – that was November 6-11, 1913
Still doubting it was from global warming … what about the Armistice Day Blizzard? Nope … November 10-12, 1940.
Hmmm … maybe they’re just natural events – part of our chaotic climate system!
We have to continually “out” these Global Warming idiots every time they open their mouths!…………just like the 30+ years of AGW propaganda that has fed our media and learning centres, we must keep telling the truth loudly and clearly until it finally “sinks in”!
These “Greenies” are the biggest threat to our planet since the last Ice Age!
I could not agree more with you and most of this nonsense is being perpetuated by the education systems where even small children are being brain washed with this bull shit.
“From the Weather Isn’t Climate Department. As we all know, every weather phenomenon can be blamed on global warming ”
and yet here you all are declaring that cold arctic air from the north meeting warm moist tropical air from the south creating this event is proof on a coming ice age

I said nothing of the sort. The post is a satirical comment on the eagerness of global warming zealots to blame everything on AGW.
I am going to village in India, I am learning to walk on hot coals, then with my new carbon footprint, I can globally warming my soles!
ABOUT ACM
“That the earth is currently in a long-term warming phase is not in dispute. It has been since the end of the last Ice Age, and in particular since the end of the Little Ice Age a couple of hundred years ago. It is therefore not surprising, nor alarming, that temperatures today are higher than they were a century ago.”
Simon does agree that it is warming, this is the starting point, not claims that we are heading into an ice age…
The BEST study confirms that the temperature data of all the major institutions are correct and that the NASA GISTEMP record is exactly in accord with the BEST results. NO massaging of data
It is quite legitimate to question and debate why the globe is warming, claiming that we are going into an ice age should not be part of such debate.
If that is your view (ice age Coming) then it would appear that you are on the wrong blog.

This is SATIRE, John. And see my latest post on BEST here.
Don’t waste your time Simon, the guys a troll .. see
here and here.
Makes sense. Thanks.
From your Mail satire link Simon
“Muller’s team has accused him of trying to mislead the public by hiding the fact that BEST’s research shows global warming has stopped.”
cannot see any evidence in either of the Mail’s graphs that global warming has stopped, could someone point that out to me. where should I start and where should I stop, as it is, the start and stop dates show an incline..
We have been through this exact same debate for 1995… 1998 and now 2001,
The Climate sceptics party have been claiming global cooling and an ice age coming, no not satire, they believe it
anyway see many of you back at unleashed in the future

Temperature data over the last 250,000 years gives high odds that the present 12,500-year post-Ice Age “long summer,” which anthropologists call the Holocene Era, is now ending. Statistically, this change is right on schedule. The “Little Ice Age” that ended about 1890, when Manhattan’s East River no longer froze over, has been followed by a 100-year up-tick that is now turning cold again. The “quiet sun” — no sun spots — of the last couple of years may well presage a Maunder Minimum of increasing cold that typically lasts seventy years.
The Global Warmists are the “deniers.” They are not just fools, dupes, and financial con artists. They pose real danger to people living in northern latitudes like Europe, who should be taking reasonable, measured steps to guard their societies against shorter growing seasons and higher energy needs for heat during extended winters.
Nature will take her course, and if serious cold strikes and persists, as seems likely, these intellectual frauds are going to find themselves accountable for the destructive policies they advocate so casually.
Right on cue…

“Because everything is “entirely consistent” with some climate model somewhere.”
Bullsh*t. Regular, clearly delineated summers, falls, winters and springs are not consistent with any Global Warming models. Where the hell have the regular seasons gone? Where the hell have normal rainfall totals gone? It’s abundantly clear to any rational creature (especially those who have lived over 40, 50 years on this planet) that there has been an increase in extreme weather events (droughts, hurricanes -some in areas they were previously unheard of, like south america), a general mix-up of seasons and the general trend towards warmer weather (on average), over the last 2-3 decades. Texas had 90+ continuous days of 100 degree plus days this summer. More than any other year in history. Ohio had the most rain this year than in any other. Why?
Alnet the only thing that is clear is that everything old is new again. I have lived for 70 years, and I can assure you that we have always had weather extremes. Have you never read or heard of Australia’s iconic poem My Country written about a century ago by a young Australian Poetess “My Country” by Dorothea McKellar. I recommend you read it.
http://www.imagesaustralia.com/mycountry.htm
I think you would agree that the Australian weather she described fits exactly with the same conditions we have today.

Have been reading this article about this, and quoting a spokesman’s words :
http://willtderalyce.wordpress.com/2011/10/31/power-outages-from-east-coast-snowstorm-near-3-million-fox-news/
“Many of the areas hit by the storm had also been hit by Irene. In New Jersey’s Hamilton Township, Tom Jacobsen also recalled heavy spring flooding and a particularly heavy winter before that.
“I’m starting to think we really ticked off Mother Nature somehow, because we’ve been getting spanked by her for about a year now,” he said while grabbing some coffee at a convenience store.
The least they can say about the past year is that Mother Nature has become an inconvenience…
