Coalition to UN climate talks: F*** OFF!!

Shove it, bitch

Shove it, bitch

Bravo! The new Coalition government in Australia give the big finger to the latest UN climate gab-fest:

AUSTRALIA has downgraded its role in global climate change negotiations and will not send a minister to the UN conference being held in Poland from next week.

The federal government confirmed yesterday that Environment Minister Greg Hunt would not have a role at the international gathering, while Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, who has responsibility for all international negotiations in the Abbott government, said she was too busy to attend.

Australia’s climate change ambassador Justin Lee left Australia yesterday for the Warsaw meeting, which is aiming to progress talks for a global agreement that includes China, India and the US by 2015.

Ms Bishop is scheduled to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting meeting in Sri Lanka next week but this is the week before ministers from other nations were due to attend the UNFCCC conference. Mr Hunt will be in Australia introducing legislation to scrap the carbon tax introduced by the former Labor government.

Neither Ms Bishop nor Mr Hunt appointed a parliamentary secretary to replace them, as has been done in the past.

Confirmation that Australia would not send a parliamentary representative followed a last-minute decision on Wednesday to scrap briefings with business and climate lobby groups to outline Australia’s position.

The warmenistas just can’t understand it:

Climate Institute chief executive John Connor said Australia’s decision not to send a minister sent “an unusual signal to the rest of the world”.

“Australia punches above its weight in international forums such as the UN conference and this can work in both a positive and negative way,” Mr Connor said.

Opposition climate spokesman Mark Butler said the “unprecedented decision by the Coalition sends a very strong message to the world that the Australian government doesn’t care about climate change”.

At last, the correct priorities are returning.

I think it’s time we told the UN to f**k off too…

  2. Why would Greg Hunt go to Warsaw when he will be busy repealing the Carbon (dioxide) Tax at the same time the snouts are hand-wringing and pants-wetting in Warsaw?

Imagine the out-cry from the left if Greg Hunt said he would go and swan around Warsaw at tax-payers expense, whilst the C(d)T was being repealed back home!

  3. Congratulations Greg! Some of the things that you have said in the past have worried me but actions speak louder than words, as they say. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to at least three terms of sound, sensible government.

  4. ”An unusual signal to the rest of the world”? That would be we don’t believe in the fairies at the bottom of the garden for the worst moral crisis of our times any more signal Mr Connor. Trough time is over we now have adults running the country.

  5. Brian from Bondi says:

We pride ourselves that news from Australia gets reported around the world. Last week it was John Howard’s speech. Here’s hoping “Australia has downgraded its role” gets reported widely – a middle ranking county is rejecting the climate scare and snubbing the warmists.

  6. They giving the CSIRO a good going over also, cleaning house there.

    • My hope is the all climate change nonsense bureacracy is slam dunked into a dumpster….

Just think of how much money has been wasted – the knockon effect is staggering

This spawned massive green “industry” that was ( oh the irony ) unsustainable ( ROFLMAO )

And it was all based on a single lie.

      Shame.

Bring back the stocks in the middle of the village square..

The new (lame) opposition says, “Australia punches above its weight in international forums such as the UN conference and this can work in both a positive and negative way,” Mr Connor said. ”

It has always punched above its own weight, usually an embarrassment, IMHO.

However, if this is true, it would be a mighty achievement for Australia to be the leader in a world-changing commonsense approach to “climate change” and to initiate the global awakening that the existing political scam is unscientific, unnecessary and destructive in many ways.

  8. Sceptical Sam says:

It was never in doubt in my mind. Tony Abbott leads a government of policy integrity.

He said he would remove the Carbon Dioxide tax and I’m confident that he will – in spite of the self-destructive actions of Electricity Bill Shorten and his green comrades. Even if it takes a double dissolution.

However, in the interim the next step need to include a review of the scientific integrity of climate “science” research; Australia’s funding of the IPCC’s Green Climate Fund; and, the provision of grants for climate “science” research from the ARC.

Finally, he needs to remove item 6.1.1 subsection 30-55(1) of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 which requires the maintenance of a Register that that provides tax deductibility for donations to the public funds of those environmental organisations that have been included on the Register.

“It was never in doubt in my mind. Tony Abbott leads a government of policy integrity.”

He leads the Country from the front in handling real problems, including telling the UN where to go on wildfires and now he leads the World in this, affording it all the attention it deserves.

  10. We need to get rid of all that deadwood….thank God we have a sensible, conservative government at the helm. But we will see a return to a Labor Government once we are back in surplus, as we seem to see time and time again…we save it, they waste it….so don’t do too good a job too soon Tony, as it is a human trait to assume the grass is greener on the other side, regardless of how lush the lawn is….

  12. Old Ranga from Victoria says:

Hunt’s decision not to go presumably means there won’t be 100 Canberra bureaucrats there either. Which is the number of support staff KRudd took to Copenhagen with him. Plundering our pockets with a zealotry that nowadays looks bizarre and ridiculous.

  13. High Treason says:

The time is right to expose the AGW scam for the poppycock excuses it is-the classic MO of habitual liars. 17th November is GetUp’s carbon tax support day. We intend having some placards to expose AGW as a pack of lies.”Smell a rat?”Get people suspicious of the Ponzi scheme tactics. With the ABC exposing cholesterol medication as a massive fraud, people may be open to the suggestion that AGW is also a fraud.

  14. Unfortunate the BALL-LESS administration that we in the USA have currently will not do as Australia has done—tell the U N to go screw themselves. 90% of the U N could be disbanded and no one would be a looser—all they are after is M O N E Y to squander and steal!!! Obama is sooooooooooooooo indebted to special interests and LARGE DONORS that we can do nothing.
